Our Mission

Empower, educate and build bright futures

Who We are

Our History

Our Mission

Our Vision

For over three decades

We have been committed to the care, education, and inspiration of hundreds of children in Ayacucho, Peru

AEA, a non-profit organization, was founded on November 29, 1985, in response to the growing number of orphaned children who had survived terrorist attacks in Ayacucho during the most turbulent years of Peruvian history. Two years later, in 1987, the Miami Chapter of the Ayacucho Emergency Association (AEA) was established in the city of Miami, Florida, under the leadership of Mrs. Dora de las Casas.”

Since 1985

Our history

“Our history dates back to 1985 when Pope Saint John Paul II visited Ayacucho, located in the central-southern region of Peru. During his visit, the Pope donated $50,000 to support the war orphans. With these funds, the ‘Juan Pablo II’ Orphanage Homes were established under the supervision of the Archbishop of Ayacucho, Monsignor Richter Pranda, and Mrs. Anabela Jordán, the wife of the United States Ambassador to Peru. Mrs. Jordán also served as the first President of AEA Lima.

Our Mission

Empower, Educate, and Build Bright Futures Bringing Hope to the Children of Ayacucho, Peru

Our mission is to provide orphaned and abandoned children and youth in Ayacucho with a safe, nurturing environment where they receive the care, education, and support they need to build a brighter future. Through sustainable programs and community involvement, we strive to empower each child with opportunities for growth, hope, and a better life, thus building up citizens of integrity and commitment to society.

Our Vision

A World where Every Child and Youth is Loved and Valued

A future where every orphaned and abandoned child and youth in Ayacucho, regardless of their initial circumstances, grows up in a loving and supportive environment, empowered with education, opportunities, and the tools to build a better life for themselves and their community.

Every child has the right to a strong education. That's why we provide high-quality formal education, delivered by highly qualified instructors, to pave the way for a bright future for each child.

AEA Miami

What we do

Our work is solely funded by generous donations from our corporate sponsors and through the hard work and dedication of our volunteer executive board, directors, members and friends of AEA Miami.

Our executive board ensures that all the funds that are raised by AEA Miami are used in the most efficient way possible to ensure that those funds can directly support our programs in Ayacucho and deliver our mission of improving children’s lives.

As part of our mission, we believe that one should have a happy childhood and that children should live in a safe and caring environment. We also believe that all young people should be given the support to reach their fullest potential. That is why we are proud to support the youth homes and shelters in Ayacucho that provide children with all these foundations including education, which has the unique capability to transform generations and break the cycle of poverty.

Your help makes it possible for us to transform the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children in Ayacucho. Thank you for supporting our mission.
