Who We are

Our History

Our Mission

Our Vision

For over three decades

We have been committed to the care, education, and inspiration of hundreds of children in Ayacucho, Peru

AEA, a non-profit organization, was founded on November 29, 1985, in response to the growing number of orphaned children who had survived terrorist attacks in Ayacucho during the most turbulent years of Peruvian history. Two years later, in 1987, the Miami Chapter of the Ayacucho Emergency Association (AEA) was established in the city of Miami, Florida, under the leadership of Mrs. Dora de las Casas.”

Since 1985

Our history

“Our history dates back to 1985 when Pope Saint John Paul II visited Ayacucho, located in the central-southern region of Peru. During his visit, the Pope donated $50,000 to support the war orphans. With these funds, the ‘Juan Pablo II’ Orphanage Homes were established under the supervision of the Archbishop of Ayacucho, Monsignor Richter Pranda, and Mrs. Anabela Jordán, the wife of the United States Ambassador to Peru. Mrs. Jordán also served as the first President of AEA Lima.
